Sear zones are the newest technology in Charbroil models utilizing ceramic burners that pressurize gas within the burner for intense heat. TEC invented pressurized infrared gas grill burners almost thirty years ago. The infrared grills are based on the principle of heating through radiation (radiant heating). High temperature radiant grilling locks flavor inside the grilled meats for incredible flavor. This makes the whole process faster and also energy effective.

Charbroil is the only gas grill company that uses to completely divergent styles of infrared grill.
